A DNA shaped by our history
1919 · Rodez, Aveyron
RAGT was born in the south of France, in Rodez in the Aveyron département. At the time it was a cooperative founded on the initiative of Maurice Anglade
to support farming once the First World War had ended. The company name refers to the Group’s historical heartland.

Auvergne
No, it is not Aveyron.Auvergne, one of the founding territories, which brought together the first farming cooperatives of the Massif Central.
Gévaudan
Gévaudan, the historical region of Lozère and Haute-Loire, the second pillar of the founding alliance.
Tarnais
The Tarn area completes the farming quadrilateral behind Groupe RAGT — a union forged in the fields.
Over the years RAGT diversified… animal nutrition in 1936, the beginnings of plant breeding in 1954, and with it the birth of RAGT’s seed business. That milestone opened up growth opportunities, first in Europe, with new markets and subsidiaries established abroad.
In 2000, RAGT structured itself as a Group around a holding company, RAGT SA, with the subsidiaries RAGT Plateau Central and RAGT Semences, followed by RAGT Énergie in 2008.
From 2010 onwards, RAGT accelerated its international development. By 2020, the Group had spread across the world:
- Pacific Seed-Force New Zealand, Seed-Force Australia
- South America Tobin SRL in Argentina
- Europe Syngenta, England
- France Bosc et Izarn, Tarn; Sanders, Occitanie
2025 marks a major milestone with the integration of Groupe Deleplanque.400 employees join RAGT, close to a quarter of the Group’s workforce at the time.
As you will have gathered, in more than 100 years of existence RAGT has never stopped evolving in pursuit of its original mission: supporting farming through its challenges.
Tone of voice
The RAGT tone of voice reflects the identity of a company.
At RAGT it must define the Group as a long-standing agricultural player, expert and deeply committed to its regions. It rests on a reliable, precise and concrete voice that values field experience, useful innovation and closeness to farmers. This tone is at once professional, accessible and embodied, carried by the diversity of the women and men who make up Groupe RAGT and its business units: RAGT Semences, RAGT Plateau Central and RAGT Énergie.
The brand expresses itself through clear, factual and structured writing that puts forward the Group’s evidence, results, know-how and commitments. It conveys one vision: supporting agricultural sectors over the long term by providing high-performing, innovative and responsible solutions.
Writing on behalf of the Group
To harmonise the content produced across all business units and guarantee a consistent expression of the brand tone, the following principles must be applied in every medium (presentations, reports, internal publications, editorial content and so on).
